National Catholic Schools Week this year is recognized from Jan. 30 to Feb. 5. This week long celebration is themed “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Catholic schools in Western Oregon celebrate this week with special Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members.
Catholic school education intentionally focuses on the growth and development of the whole human person: spiritual, physical, mental and social. Thanks to the dedication of teachers and staff, these schools provide both high-quality academic instruction and a supportive community that allows students to succeed, especially students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
If you are a parent interested in learning more about your local Catholic schools, we encourage you to attend one of the open houses during Catholic Schools Week. Contact your local school office or visit the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon Department of Catholic Schools website for details.
